CSP's innovative Activ-Films® offer the ability to address a wide variety of product stability needs in ways that are invisible to the consumer and more efficient for the manufacturer. This makes Activ-Films® ideal for applications ranging from foil pouches, stick packs and blister packs to substrates for diagnostic test strips.

Incorporating our patented three-phase Activ-Polymer® technology, Activ-Films® can be formulated for moisture absorption, gas absorption or the release of CO2 or other agents.

Formulations to meet specific needs

Our Activ-Films® are available in a range of formulations to meet a variety of requirements, including:

• Moisture Absorbing – Available in a molecular sieve formulation (designed for lower relative humidity) or a silica gel formulation (ideal for applications which are prone to over-drying).
• Oxygen Absorbing – Activated through exposure to UV light on the packaging line, these films offer greater manufacturing flexibility than moisture-activated sachets or canisters.
• Combination Films – Available as an oxygen and moisture absorbing combination, these compounds provide one solution for multiple absorption needs.
• Specialty Formulations – We can produce films that release antimicrobial agents such as chlorine dioxide, carbon dioxide and AIT (allyl isothiocyanate), which can be used to scavenge aldehydes and unsavory odors.

Regulatory compliance

The compositions of our Activ-Film® products are designed to comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union guidelines for Food and Drug Contact. Activ-Film® product formulations are described in CSP Drug Master File #14789.

Flexible configurations

Activ-Films® are manufactured in thicknesses of 0.4 – 0.6 mm and can be customized to meet a wide range of size, shape and packaging automation requirements.
